ABOUT OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY
Obstetrics and Gynecology is a combined medical study that specializes in the female reproductive system and pregnancy. Also known as OB-GYN or OB-GYNE, this is a field of medicine that mainly concerns itself with the health of the process of child-bearing and child-birth as well as its possible complications. This is a branch of science that specifically targets pregnant women and the prenatal process and care.
Ob-Gyn deals with the diagnosis and treatment of the female reproductive system. It deals with problems involving the ovaries, the uterus or even irregularities in the menstrual cycle. OB-GYN also deals with female fertility and even family planning in certain cases.

Dr. Carolyn Moyers is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center and Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006 with a dual degree, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Clinical Research and Education. Subsequently, she completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Amarillo. Since graduating from residency in 2010, she was in private practice for 5 years. During this time she has worked to develop her special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic procedures. Dr. Moyers has spent the last 3 years as an OB Hospitalist working to improve the quality of inpatient care and acute OBGYN emergencies. Recently, she has partnered with a local company to develop a Gynecology program.
Dr. Moyers is passionate about patient care and incorporates education into her patient encounters as it empowers women to engage as partners in their healthcare.
