HematologyHematology is a field in medical science that studies the components of blood, blood forming organs and the associated disorders that accompany them. It is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of blood diseases including bleeding disorders, blood cancers and hemoglobinopathies, among others. It is also employed in the science used for blood transfusion and in establishing blood banks. The word hematology is actually derived from the Greek words “heme” and “logos” which mean blood and reason respectively. The physicians who specialize in this discipline are called hematologists. They are responsible for performing medical procedures concerning the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of blood abnormalities. Tlemcani, Kaoutar![]() Board Certification
