Dr Amrit Anand, was born and brought up in North India and moved to the US to pursue college. He completed BS in Chemistry and physical therapy at the University of Oklahoma and practiced as a physical therapist in the Chicagoland area for about 4 years. Thereafter, after completing medical education, he trained to be an internist at KCMS (now WMU school of Medicine) in Kalamazoo, MI. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Currently, he is in practice as a Rheumatologist in St Joseph, MI.
Practice of Rheumatology involves diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases which includes but is not limited to autoimmune disorders, connective tissue diseases such as lupus, Rheumatoid disease, Sjogrens, Scleroderma, Sarcoidosis, etc. Other areas of expertise include spondyloarthropathies, Vasculitis, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Gout, and heritable connective tissue disorders.
Dr Anand's practice so far has involved many 2nd and even 3rd opinions for patients who have carried many different diagnoses from one Rheumatologist to another due to lack of consensus.
