Obstetrics and Gynecology is a combined medical study that specializes in the female reproductive system and pregnancy. Also known as OB-GYN or OB-GYNE, this is a field of medicine that mainly concerns itself with the health of the process of child-bearing and child-birth as well as its possible complications. This is a branch of science that specifically targets pregnant women and the prenatal process and care.

Ob-Gyn deals with the diagnosis and treatment of the female reproductive system. It deals with problems involving the ovaries, the uterus or even irregularities in the menstrual cycle. OB-GYN also deals with female fertility and even family planning in certain cases.
