Dr. Angela Chang attended the University of California, Los Angeles and graduated with honors with a B.A. in Music and B.S. in Physiological Sciences. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, where she obtained top-notch clinical and research training. During that time, Dr. Chang was invited to the National Institutes of Health to investigate a clinical drug for the treatment of head and neck cancer. She then returned back to California, and completed her internship in General Surgery and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. She was recently awarded for Dr. Chang specializes in the treatment of diseases of the head and neck region. Her diverse training allows her to treat all aspects of ear, nose and throat including sinus disease, thyroid and parathyroid disease, head and neck cancer, allergy, voice disorders, laryngeal disease, snoring, sleep apnea, otologic disorders and swallowing disorders. Dr. Chang strongly believes in patient education, actively involving her patients in their medical decision making, and allowing ample time for her patients to discuss all their concerns. Dr. Chang firmly believes in empowering her patients to make informed decisions about their health, emphasizing strong physician-patient relationships based upon open communication. Dr. Chang continually reviews the medical literature and studies to ensure her patients have the most up-to-date information and care. She has a heart for caring for women with breast cancer so this is the focus of her practice. Dr. Kovatch immigrated to the United States from Moldova (part of former USSR) at the age of 16. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from CUNY Brooklyn College with a BS degree in Chemistry in 2001. In 2007, she graduated Cum Laude from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and was accepted to AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha) Honor Medical Society due to outstanding performance. She then completed General Surgery residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2012.
