Dr. Herbert J. Roth Jr., M.D., is a highly experienced orthopaedic spine surgeon with a
distinguished career spanning several decades. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry with honors
from the University of Michigan and his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr.
Roth completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital, where he also
served as Chief Resident, followed by spine fellowship at Buffalo General Hospital and Miami
Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Roth has held prominent positions, including Chief of Spine Surgery at Detroit Medical
Center and Co-Director of the Spine Program at Henry Ford Hospital West Bloomfield. His
interests focus on spine surgery, scoliosis, and spinal trauma. He is a member of several
professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the
North American Spine Society, and the Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. Roth is also actively
involved in medical missions and academic instruction.
